The non-profit organization Outbox was formed on July 2010 and focuses on creating equal opportunities for young designers, artists and illustrators in the Israeli community. Through well-organized courses, large pool of mentors, contests and fairs Outbox succeeds reaching the entire designers community and make an impact. The organization is mainly funded by self income-generating projects.
Leading projects over the past three years:
- Entreprenurial Designers - Helping young designers that are interested in opening their own business, to expand their knowledge in business development while providing them with close mentorship and giving loans in case necessary.
- Out of the box - The main economic growth engine for Outbox. Every year Outbox invites artists to design tin boxes. Winning designs, selected by a committee of judges, are manufactured in a limited edition and sold in elite distribution networks. All profits from sales go to the organization's educational projects, specifically to youth at risk.
- Future Designers - An educational program that its main goal is to provide tools for enhancement, self expression and a direction for future employment for youth at risk. Outbox operates five classes in five different high schools in the periphery.
Outbox's yearly income is estimated in one million shekels. In 2013 Outbox will open a new design center in Bat-Yam which will include exhibitions, events, and conferences to promote the Israeli community of designers.
